SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES: OLD FORESTER 101
3pm-4pm in Classroom #2
Host: Karla Borton
In 1870, on the legendary Whiskey Row, in Louisville, Kentucky, founder George Garvin Brown sealed the first bottle of Bourbon. Dedicated to the pursuit of quality, it is his vision and spirit that has carried Old Forester through history as the only bourbon continuously sold for all this time. With the Whiskey Row series, we invite you to experience the history of the company, and the history of Bourbon itself.
We will be tasting the following:
–1870 ORIGINAL BATCH
Small batch of barrels from three warehouses to replicate George Garvin Brown’s batching process in 1870.
–1897 BOTTLED IN BOND
Small batch of barrels from one distilling season, in the same year, in a federally bonded warehouse, aged for a minimum of four years.
–1910 OLD FINE WHISKEY
Small batch of barrels that have undergone a second barreling, emulating the production process as a result of a fire
on the bottling line in 1910.
–1920 PROHIBITION STYLE
Small batch of barrels presented at 115 proof representing the typical barrel proof of Bourbon at that time.
